The CGT (General Confederation of Trade Unions) has chosen to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the fall of Nazi Germany at the memorial to the former Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp in Alsace, as a reminder that the fight against the far right is more relevant than ever.
"Faced with the far-right international movement that is being established with the support of the wealthy and the big bosses, the working world must rise up and unite," says Denis Schnabel, the CGT general secretary for the Grand Est region, who initiated this commemoration at Struthof .
